I just ordered my Pearl off of Cingulars website, and I had a quick question about the Desktop Manager. I'm not familiar with the software at all, but is there any way to run Desktop Manager off of a flash drive? I have several computers I use regularly and would like to be able to mess with the blackberry on each of them (without having to install the Desktop Manager on each). I figure it would be easier to use a flash drive to do so.

Does it work like that?

I guess it would work but you would have to install the software on each pc and point it to the flash drive.

This is an interesting thought. The IT department at my employer won't let me install Desktop Manger in order to sync my personal Blackberry to my Outlook at work. Would I be able to install Desktop Manger to a flash drive, plug it in at work, and sync to Outlook? I'd like my work computer and home pc to all be in sync.

But your IT dept most likely has restrictions in place preventing you from installing the software on your work pc.

First off, you can't run DM from a flash drive as the install modifies the registry.

Next, syncing you personal BB to your corporate Outlook is the same as removing corporate data from the network. A lot of companies take a dim view of that and it could open you up for legal actions.

IOW, anything that involves corporate and personal in the same sentence should be avoided.
