Default Best way to upgrade desktop compter

Please Login to Remove!

This might seem like a newbie question .... I am going to a new computer and wanted to know what is the best way to do it. I installed the desktop software (same version) and also installed the RIM Handheld software. For my first RIM I used AT&T and for this I am using T-Mobile (my carrier). Now it wants to update my Blackberry Core Applications and GPRS Enhanced Roaming Enabler. Plus it wants to remove all my added applications.

My Questions are:

Should I copy over all my files from BB Desktop software from my first computer to the new one, and overlay the files that are on my new? Then it might pick up my old configuration.

Should I install the new updates and any added software I have on my BB? Then I will have a clean install.

What are these new updates?
