Ok...so I cannot get blackberry desktop to work with my computer and pearl for anything. It will sync sometimes, but when it does it works only once and I have to totally restart my computer. I have tried downloading the newest version, and gone as far as wiping my entire pc clean and reloading from windows XP on up. This was the case with my 8700 as well. Anyone have any idea what might be the problem?

Ok... What error do you get on the 2nd attempt (without a reboot of the PC)????

Sounds like a driver / IRQ issue

No error at all. Just no response. It doesn't connect, the charging indicator doesn't come on, nothing. It just says disconnected and acts ad though never connected.

So at the bottom of the Desktop Manager window, when you have your BB connected to your PC, you don't see 'Connected' and your PIN number?

I do the first time. Then if I disconnect and reconnect, it just says "disconnected" unless I completely reboot my pc.

Roger, when I first got my BB a few years ago, I was having a similar problem with the PC locking up when I connected my BB, maybe not identical to yours. Anyway, are you connecting your BB and USB cable directly to the PC's USB port on the PC, or perhaps through a USB hub? I was using a hub for the USB link at first. A T-Mobile tech suggested I connect it directly to the PC, and I NEVER had the problem henceforth.

Just in case that might help you. Good luck.

Nope. Thought that might be the problem. Its going directly to the port. I appreciate all the help. Keep the suggestions coming!
