Hey so I just got my blackberry and I keep track of events of my day on my computer in a simple ".txt" file and I got my blackberry to help me with this. Well I'm wondering how do I sync this file onto my blackberry 8703e and vise-versa? The reason for this is so when I get home and am at home I can update my ".txt" file on my computer but when I'm not home just add to it on my blackberry.

Even if you got the text file to the BlackBerry, you wouldn't be able to do anything with it (with the native applications).
If you have Outlook or one of the other supported PIMs, you could use either the Calendar or Tasks to track your events. Check your BlackBerry's Documentation.

You may also want to search around and see if there's a third party BlackBerry Application to help track your events.

So what's the memo pad for then on the blackberry?

Memopad syncs with the "Notes" feature of Outlook or something similar with other PIMs.

You can enter items in the Memopad on the BB, but it will not sync with your txt file. I am not sure there is anyway to do what you are trying to do on an 8703e.

I got the 8703e b/c it only cost me $100 and I get a great deal for sprints power vision b/c I work for the company.

But, another reason I got the blackberry is because I have to keep a log of my day for a medical condition I have and I normally keep track of it in notepad. But since your saying I cant sync the memo pad on the blackberry up to my .txt file what's my alternative?

Yes. Use Outlook. Or, keep the log in the body of an e-mail (or copy and paste from the text file) and e-mail it to yourself.

I think in the desktop manager software there is an option to sync to a text file but I don't know the format you should look and the file it creates and edit yours to match.
