Does anyone know if there is a BlackBerry OS update available for the Pearl that comes with Chinese Input Method?

I already have Chinese character support for viewing with the most recent OS version of HK CSL but I cannot enter Chinese characters :(

The 8800 already has Chinese input method support but it seems the Pearl doesn't. So it would be great if someone has some news on this.

I just check hong kong CSL and starhub, they both have the chinese OS, which one do you have?

I just back checked both. I am currently running:

8100C_PBr4.2.0_rel79_PL2.2.0.39_A4.2.0.67_CSL.exe

of HK CSL and that one provides Chinese character support for visualization but not for inputting them. StarHub has this one available

Seems to be pretty much the same version. I used the links from Howto upgrade BlackBerry OS. If there are some other resources where I can more recent versions I would be happy to check them as well. ;)

Did you get the Multilanguage or the Chinese?

"8100C" ... C stands for Chinese, of course ...

I also tried Multi-Language before. No success.

If you have the chinese OS install on the computer, you can use desktop manager to install chinese input method into you pearl.

Well, that's what I did with the 7290 I have before. But the Chinese Input Method does not appear on the Pearl's BlackBerry Desktop Manager. I took a look into the ALX files and figured that those input methods (japanese and other as well) are for QWERTY devices only.

If it would be so easy I wouldn't ask

anyone know how i can input simplified chinese?
