Default desktop manager software wont install

Please Login to Remove!

need help... attempted to unlock vendor themes on OS.64 for a pearl... was unsuccessful.... later attempted to download the new rogers wireless OS... unsuccessful... was recieving error message about missing rim.blackberry.net file (or something like that) reloaded original OS.64 and message went away, but so did the OS as a loadeable option in desktop manager, only third party apps appeared in the desktop manager.

my not so great idea was to uninstall all blackberry related item on the pc. attempted to reinstall the desktop manager from the CD provided with the pearl as well as the OS from TMobile's support website when ever attempting to install, it immediately shuts down and suggests to run setup again later.

any one ever experienced this or similar, what is the recommended workaround / remedy?

expert advice greaty needed and appreciated. thanks in advance

Install the latest 4.2 Desktop Manager from here (4.2 SP2 is even newer and includes the new Roxio Media Manager and can be downloaded from this same site):

BlackBerry - BlackBerry - Sys Req V4-2 Pack 1

Then install the .64 OS.
Then you can replace the Blackberry.alx file with the edited one from Jibi's thread here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/ring...-4-2-only.html

Plug in BB, Open Deskotp manager and run Application Loader. You should see "update" next to "core applications." Finish the installation.
