Default New to BB, need help

Please Login to Remove!

OK, bear with me, because I am new to Blackberry. I do IT work for very small companies, anywhere from 3-15 people. I have a client who bought a new blackberry Pearl yesterday, and she called me and needs it set up and working by the end of the week. The set up I can do, but I have hit an issue.

I am hosting her email, and she gets it via POP3 on her laptop. She uses Outlook 2000. The problem is, once her laptop downloads the email, it is removed from the server, so it will never go to her blackberry. This part she can deal with, she just needs the BB when she is on the road, and can make sure her outlook is always closed when she needs it.

The next part of the problem is, if she gets an email on her BB, it does not go to her outlook, where she would like to have a record of the email. As far as I can tell, that can be fixed by telling the BB not to delete mail from the server. She will just have duplicate copies in her outlook, and will have to sort through them twice. She can deal with that issue as well.

What She cant deal with is if she replies to an email with the BB, she needs a record of that reply to replicate onto outlook. She said she can handle having duplicate emails in 2 places, but she would also like to have her outlook reflect any sent or replied to emails that were sent via the BB device. Is this possible? Am I missing something here? Ive spent the better part of yesterday and today trying to figure out if there is a way to do with without having to go to IMAP.

1- To solve the problem you don't need to deal with, you can tell Outlook in its email POP settings to NOT delete messages from the server after download.

2- Actually, I don't think the BB automatically removes messages on the POP account after downloading, but your POP server needs to be instructed to keep messages XXX days, unless deleted. That is how my setup is working.

3- No can do, automatically, on BIS setup, she can simply BCC herself on each email she sends from the BB, which is pretty simple.

My setup is very very similar to what you looking to achieve. Deleting duplicates is easy. Unless another user knows a better method, the BCC to self is what I do. I don't think there is an automatic filter, either, to forward all sent messages.
