Default Newbie - stuck in "New Password" mode

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I purchased a Blackberry 7250 from eBay and the seller stated he "reset" it to the original factory settings however, when I received it, the device requested that I enter a password. After 6 attempts, the device reset itself and now requests a new password however; I have tried multiple times to enter a password of my choice, but it will not accept it. I took the device to the verizon wireless store, and they informed me that they did not service these phones, and that I should contact the blackberry rep... who told me to "reset" it by trying the incorrect password thing again. I have even downloaded the desktop manager program to my PC, but the device is not "connected" even though I have it connected via the USB. It seems that NO ONE knows how to configure this device!! Can anyone help????

Start with this FAQ - How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

That will completely wipe it out.

You will have to download the handheld OS for the 7250 and reload it. You will need both the Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS to do this.

How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck.

Okay,

Thanks for trying to help - but this was unsuccessful as well!!!! I am SOOOOO frustrated.... it seems like everything I try is wrong!!!!!! I have downloaded the JL_Cmder and this will not install on my PC, and then when I remove the battery and go through DOS to execute the loader.exe file, I keep getting the message that my device is unable to be connected - In short, I am STILL prompted with the "new password" prompt - arrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Why won't JL_CMDER install on your PC?

I get the message "Couldn't run INSTALL.CMD" when I double-click the icon JL_Cmder v1.8.3 ...... dunno why it won't work... another box appears that says "extract to: C:\windows\TEMP" and had three buttons, "Info...|Start|Close"

I have tried repeatedly to "wipe" this BB 7250 but to no avail.... i just keep getting the message that the handheld could not be found when, in fact, it IS CONNECTED, but it appears disconnected... and.... I have removed/replaced the battery as well on multiple occasions, but EVERY time it is in place, the "security feature" loads and the end result is "new password" - arrrrrrrrggggggghhhhh!!!!!!!

i am running windows 98
