Default Desktop Software 4.0 SP1

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Not sure if this has been announced (I did a search and it all seemed to be BES SP1 not desktop software), apologies if it has been though.

Anyway SP1 for Desktop Software 4.0 is now available via the Support link on the BB site.

Release notes available at the same site for full details!

It includes updates for App Loader, USB support and synching.

Known Issues Fixed :-

Here are some of the known issues that are fixed in SP1:

A user's name that contains accented characters will now synchronize correctly.

If you use Microsoft Outlook and you change you desktop software to synch with a public folder, the BlackBerry Desktop software won't lock up and close if you synch your desktop with your handheld.

If you install your BlackBerry Desktop software to a directory with a name that contains accented characters, PIM (Personal Information Manager) synch will be possible.

IBM Lotus Notes task categories can now be synched.

Should you upgrade BlackBerry Desktop from version 3.6.2 to 4.0, the Home address fields in the address book will map to the Home address street fields.
If you use Microsoft Outlook, you delete a contacts email address field and then you synchromized with your handheld, the email address on the handheld will clear.

BlackBerry Desktop software now properly updates the encryption key during manual key generation. Up until SP1, decryption errors were common when manual key generatio was used to secure email sent from handhelds to BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
