Hi everyone, I think it made most sense to post my question here. I jsut got my 7100t and it really is great. My company has BES but I am not on it. I wanted to use the redirector to send / forward my Notes email to the blackberry. When I launch Desktop Manager, two things happen:

1. it says that the blackberry server could not be found (that makes sense since I am not on the server, it is on the list).
2. when I click on redirector settings (it is greyed out btw) it says that I am not connected to email

Please help!!!

Can someone clarify something; when I get the message "redirection setting are not available without an online connection to your email system" does it mean that is cannot access my Lotus Notes email server? I find this kind of weird since no where does it ask for my mail server per se, it only asks for my Blackberry Server (which I am not part of). How does it know to goto my Notes.nsf mailbox?

The "online connection to your email system" comes through the BES server. There is no desktop redirector for Lotus Notes.

Dag, this is a total brick now. I need to get email to from my notes. There is a product I can buy for Notes that does the forwarding ($60) but I need designer access to my mailbox.

I haven't tried it yet, but has anyone tried to use the outlook 2003 connector to access Notes? I'm wondering if this would get you closer?

Can't you just beg them to add you to their BES? ;)

Funny you should ask that, I am trying that as we speak. Let you know how it goes.

If that doesn't work, is POP3 setup on your mail server? If it is, you can use the Blackberry Web Client to have those messages sent to your BB.

POP3 on my mail server is a no-go. no iNotes access to it neither. Outlook 2003 with connector is giving me issues but I have had it running on Outlook 2002. Trying to get that CD now so I can install.

Also, Blackberry Web Client knows how to use iNotes, if your company uses it. I have used it that way, and it works very well. Especially since you can make filters on the BWC side, and then nobody else you work with knows what you are letting through and what you are filtering. I also set any email that comes from my manager to come to the BB as a level 1.

no iNotes here neither (I should say I cant get that neither) but I found something. When setting up BIS, you can say (through some jirations) to download a redirector program which essentially is like the Desktop redirector. I will let you know how this is working.

Here is the latest:

Outlook 2003 and Connector for Notes runs fine, once you load Desktop Manager, you get a memory exception error, does not like it at all, corrupts Outlook so I went the BWC/BIS Mail Connector way..Here is where I am at:

Two issues:

1. Mail sent to my gmail account are not automatically sent to blackberry, they are however in the BWC (in the Inbox). I set up the account on BWC sucessfully using gmail set up.
2. Using the Mail Connector, it seems that it is running but sometimes I see a red X pop up. I am guessing something is wrong but do not know what. I set up an email account on BWC (for my Lotus Notes at work) and that worked ok (green check)

I reinstalled desktop manager and set it to blackberry internet mail, it installed fine.

Has anyone gotten both Lotus Notes mail connector and gmail working?




Any help would be appreciated.

Update, gmail works now, I had to delete and recreate the account. Mail Connector still not forwarding email (Lotus Notes) to BWC email. Anyone have this working with Notes 6.0 and 7100t (T-Mobile)?

finally got it working. inbox cannot have too many items to make it work.

Has any one else used Mail Connector with Notes 5.x and had an issue with getting set up?

It downloads and installs fine on my PC but then says it can not access my Notes account? (Yes, the password is correct and I think I have notes set up properly...) I have the rest of my Notes PIM syncing fine using the desktop manager (ie. address, calendar, journal and tasks).

Help?!?

Okay, I spent two days working with RIM but there are a few things that you have to check:

1. Proxy username / password should be the same as your Internet password. Lotus Notes uses another password to get access to the internet. If you have a Sametime server, use that username / password.
2. Alot of email is anything over 3000 items in the Inbox. They suggest that you take the entire mailbox and create a new folder and put everything there. Make the inbox empty. Reboot everything and the Mail connector should pickup the mailserver and do it's thing.
3. Make sure that you only have one notes.ini file
4. Turn on logging on the mail connector. goto about tab and click on the image, then activate logging. It should create a log file.

how is companionlink better than the desktop stuff that comes with the blackberry?
