Default Blackberry Redirector Software Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Carrier - Vodafone
Blackberry - 8800
Software - Windows 2000 SP4, Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.2.1, Lotus Organizer 6.0

The aim of my project is to be able to send calendar & contact data from Lotus Organizer 6.0 on the pc to the Blackberry 8800 wthout using a usb cable.
My understanding from a RIM tech guy is that I need to install Blackberry Redirector to communicate between the two devices.
I have downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software from the Blackberry site and been through the installation.
During the installation it asks whether I want to install Blackberry Enterprise Software or Blackberry Redirector in one option or Blackberry Internet Service? I chose the first option (BES & Redirector). The next question was to choose either Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Novell and I cannot remember the 4th option. The only one that I thought was the closest to what I needed was the Lotus option (knowing that I have not got and Lotus Domino software loaded but only Lotus Organizer 6.0.
After the installation I proved that I could send data to the 8800 via a usb cable which is fine but could not find any reference to the redirector software in Desktop Manager other than the help menu troubleshooting.
I have done the installation twice but with no joy.
Do I need any other software loaded to proceed? The tech guy from RIM said that I do not need to load the BES software as I am not doing emails and also did not need the Lotus Domino software as not using as a server.

This is my first ever post so please excuse if it does not make any sense.
Any advice given will be gratefully received.

Kind regards,

IF this will work, you need to make the following choices:
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Desktop Redirector
  • Lotus Domino (typically used with Lotus Notes client)
  • Start desktop manager automatically each time the computer starts.
You will also need to have the Desktop Redirector running and the computer on or you won't get your email or sync anything.

All that said, I don't think this will work with Organizer.
