lol... Mine was disastrous. After a couple of unsuccessful installs, I finally had to edit the registry directly to kill whatever remnants of the RIM software (and Roxio) that I could find. Then I spent 2 hours on the phone with a very confused BB support lady who eventually started cursing vista herself. We both gave up.
Then I followed this procedure:
1 In Microsoft Windows Explorer, go to the C:\ drive and create a new folder called TEMP2.
2 Open the Control Panel and double-click the System icon.
3 On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
4 In the User variables list, select TEMP and click Edit.
5 In the Variable value field, change the file path to C:\TEMP2 and click OK.
6 In the User variables list, select TMP and click Edit.
7 In the Variable value field, change the file path to C:\TEMP2 and click OK.
8 In the Environment Variables window, click OK.
9 In the System Properties window, click Apply, then click OK.
10 Repeat the installation procedure for the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
I stole that from the web.
Then I banged my head against the wall for another hour or so. I finally got it back...all except for Roxio, which I suspect is a culprit in my misery.
Are there any other media managing proggy's available for an 8830?
[edit] Yes,...Windows Media Player, lol.
