I have a client asking me something about the BlackBerry's Yahoo! Messenger client. Although I'm quite versed on the BES side of things, I rarely get involved with the loaded apps beyond the standard ones.

This company uses Yahoo Messenger on their desktops fairly extensively. We got them going on a BES server which they've been using for a couple of months now, and they've been playing around with the Yahoo Messenger app. I'm being told now that their contacts that are Yahoo users are coming up automatically. However, any contacts from MSN are not available on their BlackBerries.

Is this expected? Is there a version issue at play (the specific user I'm working with has 1.0.95)? I know that the desktop client inter-communication is relatively recent, so I'm wondering if it's just not availbel on the mobile client yet.

Last I heard (on this forum somewhere), unlike it's desktop counterpart, the BlackBerry YIM client doesn't allow WLM/MSN contacts.
