Default BBerry browser and send email not working

Please Login to Remove!

Last night i uninstalled Rambler, which is an OTA download. After that I started getting messages that say. "Could not connect to the selected Mobile Data Service" whenever i try to run the bberry browser. The wap browser does work. We have BES with MDS and i am able to recieve email, but cannot send since this happened. I have tried reloading me as a user on the bberry server several times, have rebooted the device several times, and have gone as far as to reload the the device entirely. Any thoughts, suggestion ?

TIA

Ray

What version of the handheld OS are you running? I assume you have connected/cradled your BB up and started Desktop Manager.

You need to cradle the device on a workstation with connection to Exchange through Outlook to receive the BES service books again, that will fix the issue you are having. You don't have the BES service books at this time because they got deleted/corrupted

Actually I did that, but i did finally ge to the bottom of this with RIM. Seems like if your 3.6 BES does not have the service packs installed, it is not completely compatible with 4.0 on the device. Options are update the service packs ( im not the admin, so who knows when this will be done) or downgrade to 3.7 on the device.

It worked up until the first time i sync'd and had to regenerate a key, thats when the error started happening, turns out it wasnt ramble, just that i happened to sync ( which i rarely do) at the same time i was uninstalling ramble.

I donwgraded, and then upgraded again, and now i just wont sync until IT updates the software on the BES.
