Default Extension & PINs - 08-16-2007, 12:47 AM

I recently switched from a treo to the blackberry. With the treo I could program a phone number and add an extension and or PIN that I could auto or manually initiate to check our in-house voicemail system. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this with the curve; Any ideas?

When you're entering the number in the address book, click the trackball and select "add wait" to have the phone prompt you to press a button for it to send the additional dtmf tones, or select "add pause" to have the phone do it automatically after 2 sec.

If it's really just an extension at a company, you can program your company phone number in phone/options/smart dialing. Set the phone number and the delay, tell it how many digits are in the extension (I'll call it X), and then exit. When you're adding a phone number to the address book, you can just put in X digits and the phone will recognize it as an extension within your company. When you call the number, it will first dial the company phone number and then dial the extension for you.
