Default Remove redirector from desktop - 08-22-2007, 07:34 PM

I recently installed desktop 4.2.2.14 which I use only to sync the 8300 with Outlook. I don't need the redirector but it comes up when the PC is booted up, tries to send an email, and is a general nusiance. Can this be removed and still leave the local USB sync function of the Desktop Manager intact. The 8830 has no wireless sync, receives no email, and is used only as a local Calendar, AddressBook, and Phone.

Not familiar with that particular DTM version, but you should have had an option to not install this. Running desktop w/o redirector is definitely doable. try re-running the installer and see if you can disable this.

Yeah I would say just re-install DTM but just use the BIS option instead of BES (Redirector) for simplicity if you do not need DTM for any other reason beside wired sync.
