Default BB wont connect to Desktop Manager - 08-24-2007, 01:18 AM

I just bought a Blackberry 7290 phone off of eBay, and of course it has an IT Policy. I am not on a BEM, this phone is for personal use only. I have read the information on how to remove the IT policy, and I am having problems connecting the phone to the comp through the Desktop Manager.

I have installed both the Desktop Manager and the Blackberry OS for the 72xx. I have a USB cord that is Firmly connected to both the BB and my comp. When im looking at the Desktop Manager, i got to Options/Connection Settings and under Connection it says USB:23ca85a6. I press connect, and it says that the device is found.

Now, when i go to Application Loader, i click next, i make sure that its on USB:23ca85a6, click next and my phone shuts down, deactivating the link. I have had this scenario happen maybe 8 times.

I have tried soft reset, hard reset, and using JL_Cmder to reset it, and nothing works. I know its connected because it says its charging, but i cant access anything.

Any ideas on what i can do? Thanks in advance.

UPDATE!

I finally got it to work, i just installed all the information onto a different computer, connected, and it asked for my password. Put in the right password and tada, connected.

Hope this helps anyone else who has had this problem.
