Do you have an old spare BB kicking around? 6710, 6210 etc. Not sure anything else can read the .ipd back up beyond a BB...

Shame about the device especially one so new and feature rich... Is it just a matter of a new case to house the guts of the BB or is it hosed altogether? If its just the case check out the following: http://www.promobility.net/html/blackberryparts.shtml

Will any older model BB take the backup file?

I think i really broke it... not powering on at all. no lcd display, no led, no sound nothing. My local dealer says that it looks like a need a new one.

Try using one of the simulators:

I just ran a quick test, and it could read an ipd file
