Default Desktop Manager sync issues

Please Login to Remove!

I am using a 7250 and have installed desktop manager. However when I try and sync with my Groupwise calendar I get the following message "DesktopMgr.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created"
I am on Windows 2000 Professional. I guess this is a windows problem, but I don't know how to solve it. I have done a complete uninstall and reinstall of Desktop Manager(a couple of times) without success.Any suggestions?Where do I find the error log??

On the outlook probelm, try running scanpst.exe on your oulook pst file. This sometimes clears up the problem.

Are you by chance running any local AntiVirus software? Try disabling it first and re-run the DM software. What does your event viewer indicate? You can start it by doing Start->Run and type eventvwr. Thi smay indicate other errors that you are not aware of.

Default sunc issues

Try upgrading to Desktop 4.0 and after doing so download and install service pack for Desktop Manager. Both are available from the download area on the RIM site.

I have had this problem mainly on Laptops with Windows XP
Try:
Disconnect cable from PC:
in a command prompt
cd "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\usb drivers"
bbdevmgr.exe /regserver
regsvr32 bbdevmgrps.dll
cd ..
cd rimdevicemanager
regsvr32 rimdevicemanagerps.dll

[I simply created a batch file from the above info and just run that on PC's that need it]

Reboot PC
Open Desktop Manager
Connect Blackberry to cable + PC
Wait for PC to show it has found RIM device + set it up.
Options => Connection Settings => select USB => [detect] when found [OK]
(if PIN appears after USB just click OK)

Hopefully you won't see that nasty error again.

i tried registering the *.dll's as well as the repair option - as listed in the blackberry faqs... to no avail however. i tried exporting to a file and using the ascii option to import it into the handheld, which also did not work...

i almost returned mine because of this. However their is a non-technical fix. Do not download SP1 from nextel (all languages). Download SP1 from blackberry.net (english version). If it doesn't work then you need to do a clean uninstall of the original version that you probably got from the provided CD (which is crap).

Exclamation Desktop Manager Sync Issues

I'm having a similar problem but when trying to sync the Outlook inbox and the handheld. When our 7250 user deletes a message from the BlackBerry it doesn't delete from the desktop and vice verse. Email is delivered from the desktop to the BlackBerry and everything else appears to sync correctly. Latest software on both desktop and BlackBerry. Desktop is Windows 2000 and Outlook 2002 (XP). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lightbulb Just a Tip

Ron,

You might want to check this out:

BlackBerry Search Results

The Cause 3 heldped me with the same issue.

On regard the other porblem what I did was to go to the Synchronization settings and on Configure PYM uncheck the option so syncrhonize Calendar. After that I tried to synch my BB again and it didn't come up with the error message so I just check my calendar for problems with my recurrence meetings and deleted them and it worked fine after that (remenber to select your calendar on configure pym after that)

A co-worker had the same problem what he did was to change MS outlook insetad of Wireless on the synchronization settings (Configure PYM) on the calendar. After that he synchronized and the problem was gone.

Sorry for my English... Hope this can be for some help...
