I have an issue with a Vista notebook syncing with blackberry desktop manager.

OS: Windows Vista Business (all windows and office updates are up to date)
Phone: Blackberry Pearl 8100
Connectivity: USB
Desktop Manager Version : 4.2 SP2
Sync Type: Microsoft Outlook (exchange)


Upon initial installation everything worked fine until 2 - 3 days after when sync started to fail upon syncing the first item which is calendar. The sync would fail saying program not responding and the program needs to close.

Since then the only way to get it working until it fails again is to reset configuration and restablish sync options and rules.

Would I have tried to resolve the issue:

- Uninstall the program and delete related folders.
- Install the program , and change all default paths for program files and user data into a folder in C:
- change to manual sync only

I have attached two log files, RIM (log file which shows the issues) and RIM2 (log file when sync is working correctly)

Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Where are the files?
are they tif.log and pttrace.log?

Try deleting the Intellisych folder.

I'm having the same problems, with a fresh installation of Vista Business. Latest download of Desktop Manager, and the latest version of the 8703e handheld software. This is happening on two different Vista machines.

I'm sure someone has sync'd these devices, is it possibly something in the security settings?
