Default Vista is unable to see my BlackBerry.

Please Login to Remove!

Everytime so far when I plug my BlackBerry (Version 4.2.2 on both Desktop Manager and Handheld.) into my Laptop running Windows Vista Home Edition it shows up as a RIM Mass Storage Device and does not load any drivers....

With that said are thier any drivers I need to install (which I have not found so far) and when I plug my BlackBerry into my laptop should appear in "My Computer" as a device with Removable Storage (I have a 1 GB Card in my BlackBerry).

However when I going threw the Application Loader within the Desktop Manager, I was removing an application I got a pop-up notification from Windows that it found my BlackBerry but it only lasted for about a minute and it has never happened agained.

Any advice would be great.

Default

Uninstall BDM and reinstall. Make sure to right click and select Run as Administrator. Do not have the device attached to the PC during the installation. Finally, do not attach the device to the PC using a USB hub. Make sure you plug it directly into the PC.

Thumbs down

Yep, I have done that already (2 or 3x alreday).

I have went as far as to completely disable UAC on Vista during the installation. However Vista still will not see my BB. (I have also searched this forums and followed the instructions I have found)

Edit:

This time I installed the Desktop Manager from the BlackBerry website, disabled UAC installed it re-started machine. After the next re-boot the Desktop Manager would not stay open for then 2 seconds, so I then re-enabled UAC, re-booted and now the Desktop Manager works fine.

However Vista still shows my BlackBerry as a "RIM Mass Storage Device" and states the driver did not install correctly.

I have turned on/off Mass Storage Mode (I have a 2 GB PNY MicroSD card in my Blackberry).

Slowly but surely this may work... unfortunitly my 30 day trial with VZW is almost and I would love to get this working perfectly before then (Just on a personal note of course)
