Default AOL and Yahoo! to Come to BlackBerry's

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know when the AOL and Yahoo! instant messengers will come to the BlackBerry's; I'm ion the U.K., if it has happened in the U.S. then when over here?

I personallly see BlackBerry's as a personal tool in the U.K. as opposed to a buisness tool in the U.S., bringing out-of-the-box I.M. to BlackBerry's would sell more more of them over here!

For AOL I currently use Ramble IM. It's free and easy to use on the 7520.

Default Mine has it

My 7100t blackberry has AOL, ICQ, and Yahoo instant messenger preloaded, but they all use SMS messages instead of data.

I'm in the U.S.

Post Yahoo! for Blackberry Devices

The last news I saw about this was back in March...

http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/...tfg,tfg,00.asp

I have not been able to get any information from RIM or Yahoo! on this.

I have been using VeriChat on my 7230.

Go through the instant messaging FAQ which shows you a list of options like Causerie, Verichat etc.

Default Cheaper IM+

I spent some time looking at the various options (mainly for Yahoo chat) and found the Verichat to have the best features - however I could not justify a repeating yearly cost so eneded up with what I thought was second best IM+.

I did find this website who seemed to have it cheaper than everyone else ... hope it helps

I've read the IM FAQ before; I was meaning an out-of-the-box soloution - supposedly new BlackBerry's are to come with AOL and Yahoo! IM's pre-installed!

I've looked on Google news and it's still talked about oftern, but no-one can ever deliver a date! Maybe in the next major OS release?

Hi everyone.

Well... I recieved my BB7520 yesterday. Today, I've been on the phone most of the day with nextel's bb tech support. They can't figure out how to get aim to work, they say to call aim, aim says to call nextel. Gonna go read that IM faq now.

Does your 7520 have an AIM application installed then? I.e. an AOL branded one like the Sidekick's do?
