When I click on the icon for blackberry messenger, it opens the app, but immediately shows a pop up screen stating "Please enter your name as you would like others to see it." There are two selection choices - ok, or cancel. If I click cancel, I just exit the app. If I click ok, another pop up screen shows this message "your name cannot be empty" and I can only click on OK, which takes me right back to the last screen. I'm stuck in this loop and it won't let me actually enter my name.

How do I get out of that loop so I can enter my name and start adding contacts to the messenger?

You have to type a name. Simply start Typing your name in (it doesn't look like there is a cursor or anything there, but it will start typing), then you can click OK.

Tried that, but as soon as I open the application, the first pop up window is there and nothing happens if I just start typing.
