Default Trouble installing desktop software - 10-06-2007, 09:37 AM
Hello all - my knowledge level = basement
trying to instal desktop software 4.2.2 from CD (also downloading ex Web, but expect same problem): the installation wizard bales out coz it doesn't like my user name "unacceptable short name grant.paterson, error 1325". This a network domain user name, can't change it. Any suggestions? Some way to manually override this problem? Thanks......

Doesn't sound like you have Administrator privledges to install the DTM software. That's the only reason it would even bring up anything about a user name.
