Default GroupWise 5.5 sync issue with BB 7750

I know I know....You're asking why the hell are we still on Groupwise 5.5 but I have to play with the hand I've been delt. Actually we are migrating to Microsoft Server 2003 but we are doing it office by Office, again I can only play the hand I am delt. This might actually be a simple issue for you guys.

When I intially setup the BB software to the workstation using the desktop redirector since we do not have a BES yet, I was able to sync everything using intellisync. But for some strange reason it stop working. I was able to get the Calender to sync again but not the address book. I would get the Microsoft Send/ Do Send error and then the BB desktop would close out. Now even when I update the calender and try to sync the BB it doesn't update either. Does anyone have any idea? on how I can solve this issue.

I tried re-installing the desktop software, installing Groupwise 5.5E client

Nothing works

You might want to delete the RIM folder under c:\documents and settings\username\application data

That seems to be the support peoples suggestion for everything.

i've tried this several times, upgrading to sp1 (using v. 4.0), manually registering the .dll's, running the repair option, disabling the anti-virus software (mcafee)... anything else?
