New user here. Is it possible to have the 7250 use different alerts based on message type (email or text) or on filter type (subject, sender, etc)?

For example, I receive emails frequently that do not need to be responded to immediately. Others, I need to respond to quickly. I would like to set up the unit so that if I get a certain type of message, whether it be based on message type or a keyword to send me an alert (vibrate). If it doesn't meet the criteria, do nothing but go to the inbox.

Is this possible?

Unfortunately the alerting is fairly primitive; what you see in the Profiles (in holster/out of holster) and "Level 1 Messages" (a higher priority) is about it. I am unaware of any third party alert management software for the BB.

It is not possible to set criteria alerts, only message alerts, phone alerts, task and calendar alerts, ect.

I purchased a program called "Message alerts" which offers the ability to set up rules similar to outlook. You can download it from the website here http://www.webmessenger.com/filedown...lerts-0923.zip and I HIGHLY recomend it. Without it my BB would be worthless because it would be notifying all day and night for low priority e-mails and autogenerated reports.
