Now that BlackBerry's can use SD cards, I would love to have the ability to access not just music and pictures/video from the card, but also applications. If I could store applications on the card and use them from there, my BlackBerry 8310 would be PERFECT! Because I need memory intensive programs like eOffice and gps maps, not to mention ToDoMatrix and IdeaMatrix, I keep running out of room. I have Viigo and google maps for 8310 as well as the above named programs. I would like to be able to add a specialized travel program and my Ascendo money, but I run out of room. (Oh yeah, I have Ascendo DataVault and Mobipocket on my BB as well) Having a few games like Solitare and Backgammon would be wonderful to keep on my storage card as well for those down moments when you just need something to do other than work!

lawizard, I do agree with you in principle, that would be good.

I guess we have to remember, the BB is not a laptop, and to expect it to function for every mobile computing solution we require might be asking a bit much right now. I know Palm and MS have attempted that, and failed miserably doing so. Given more time, I would expect those to be very functional features.

A News Reader that could cache articles for reading offline (on airplane etc.) would be a great first step. Another good first step could be GPS map caching.

Have you looked at Viigo? The SD card isn't necessary to do this.

Yes, Viigo is an excellent choice for a newsreader. And free.
