There are no 3G BlackBerry devices on any U.S. GSM carriers.
All of the current Verizon and Sprint CDMA BlackBerry devices are 3G EVDO capable. | | Offline

| A rumored 3G BB is in the works, the 9000 series, but when it is released is anyone's guess. Rumor has it sometime in 2008.
But, I don't think you can get that kind of speed on any handheld, BB or PPC. Too many variables such as the connection, the processor, memory, the distance to the tower, tower congestion, etc. Plus most websites are not optimized for mobile users.
If you feel you really need that speed, never leave your desk and PC. What do you do at night? Do you never sleep? | | Offline

| I have a 8820 and when I hit a hotspot, of course it is as fast as the wifi connection. I also have a Sprint 8830.....it seems much faster than the edge....So, depending on where you live the Sprint 8830 may be the way to go. | | Offline

But it sounds like you need a HTC TILT. Same provider so you wont have to switch, 3G, WIFI etc...
But i agree with most of the posts above. The real factor would also be distance from tower, proc speed, congestion etc.. even with a 3G phone.

... | The 9000 series is prob around January 2008. I just went to my local AT&T store and the guys there told me. These are the same guys who keep upgrading to the new company phones as soon as they come out. One guy had that new Pantech Duo and another is using the 8310 in Red.
I heard the 9000 series will be similar to what the iphone features are. sliding keyboard, and touch screen functionailty. | | Offline

| Speed I am in Wash DC and use a 7130e. EVDO speed is impressive when you have a good signal. Although the phone works everywhere I need it to, the data connection can be spotty. I wish it was up to same reliability as the phone signal. | | Offline
