Apparently Verizon's Curve won't be out until May and Sprint is releasing in April. Has got to be a first.

Picture mail? Are you referring to HTML? Yes, it will likely have HTML email once there is an upgrade to the BIS and BES environments.

I think he was asking about being able to send pictures you take on your phone to another person's phone like a text message. I was very surprised when I bought the Pearl and that was not a feature. Sending picture messages seemed like an elementary part of a cell phone to me (especially a smart phone with a camera)...... I guess not.

Any word on the color? The black curve looks much nicer than the titanium version.

Didn't ask about the color, while I do prefer the black I'll settle for titanium just to get out of my Treo 650.

That is exactly what i meant.

It baffles me how a high end phone doesn't have a relatively basic feature.
Oh well.

Wirelessly posted (8330 Sprint)

Hmmmmmmm.

You can send a picture via email, and via BB Messenger.

You just can't send via SMS. If that is a big deal you can send to phone#@carrier.messaging.com

While florescent pink doesn't go with my outfit, I'd settle to get out of my Treo 650 too.

I have to say Sprint has been a bear to deal with in getting this phone replaced. I finally got a CS Rep in their retention department who read the notes on my account dating back to 2004. After reading all the attempts to get the phone fixed he noticed I the equipment replacement plan which the other CS Reps and the stores weren't honoring and offered to replace the phone with any Smartphone in their line-up at no cost.

I'm now glad I didn't jump on the 8830!

Wait, maybe I'm late, but, are you saying that the Sprint Curve won't be able to send regular mms? Is this the case for all Sprint blackberries?

What is that? Can you send a picture from the phone to another person's phone number like you can with mms? And it's interesting, from Sprint's website, it doesn't list Picture Mail as a feature for the 8130, as it does with regular cell phones.

from my experience with it, the receiver gets a link to the picturemail website. it isnt a standard MMS, closer to an email with a picture attached, but its sprint's version of MMS

Well done! The other docs, nurses and er folks got a kick out of it too.

Now only if Sprint would release it earlier than the 20th I'd have a case of Scurve.

Default Comes with a pre-installed 1GB card - 04-03-2008, 11:37 PM

I just noticed this about the Sprint Curve:

"MicroSD/SDHC Expansion Slot: Add memory for larger work files – presentations, reports, documents or transfer music, photos, and video from your desktop, or load additional games and applications. Comes with a pre-installed 1GB card. Cards up to 8GB supported; sold separately."

Is the supply of a 1GB card normal?

no, sprint normally includes smaller cards. The inclusion of a card that large is new. Its nice to see though.

Hell, I'll never fill that up even with the med programs I have on the Treo. Maybe I'll be able to get some additional protocols on the thing.

Come on April 20th

well unless the med program runs in device memory but stores data to the media card, you wont see any benefit for the program itself. blackberry programs are installed to device memory.

Based on the info from their site, it looks like the curve will have the ability to send a picture phone to phone instead of being forced to use e-mail or an alternative means like sending a text to the [email address]
