After reading this I called Sprint and spoke to a retention rep, the official release date is April 20th. Don't know how reliable the rep you spoke with is but, for now I'm going to have to say they're BS'ing you.

I thought B2B was the 16th and the consumers are the 20th? Well regardless, Telus beat everyone to the punchline!

Just to clarify for everyone because there are multiple responses on this topic.

NO! Sprint does NOT support Picture Mail on any Blackberry, or MMS. Not on the Pearl, Not on the Curve when it comes out.

You can send a picture to a Blackberry Messenger contact, you can send a picture via email, but that is it. You could theoretically send an email to the [email address] (depending on the carrier protocol), but that is as close to MMS you can get.

not all carriers or phones support MMS. sprint doesnt support mms period. there picture mail is basically webhosting of your picture and sending a link to the recipient. i believe a third party application could be created to do this, no?

i believe the windows mobile guys have an application that can do it.

Sprints implementation of MMS or picturemail is horrid.
you would think they would fix it, but this is sprint we talk about.

The Blackberry Curve will be soft launching on the 17th. Soft launch means that we will getting stock of them but we will not have a Demo one up yet. You will need to ask the representative to see one.

Original Question: Blackberry 8330 Curve
Question: Blackberry Curve (8330) - What is the release date of this
phone. I have been promised a new phone by retentions, and was told
this the Blackberry Curve (8330) would be available April 20th. Today
I'm hearing rumors that the release date is June 1.

Which is it April 20th or June 1? I can't wait until June 1 for a new
phone; however you're current line up of phones is unacceptable.

"The version we saw came in an appealing green color, ironically like the green Palm Treo 755p on Verizon Wireless (Sprint got a blue one)."

Maybe this is why the people at Sprint couldn't find the titanium color we've all been asking about. They switched up the color to baby puke green. Ok it's not that bad but, the titanium looks much hotter.

I just called the Sprint Store in my area So I could find out if the Curve was coming out on the 20th as told. They said sprint has pushed it back to June now. So if you were waiting for the curve, we have to wait longer...

As more and more people buy smartphones, I can't imagine Sprint turning around their business because of their incredibly delayed phone introduction. It wasn't such a big deal before, but the technology difference is now incredibly noticable because of the capabilities of new smartphones.

If the launch date is June, I will just wait for the rumored 3G iphone later this year. If the curve came out this week, I was going to give Sprint a final try by purchasing the curve on ebay without a contract.

My local stored stated they(curve)are on time and would be able to order them next week so i guess we will see. If there was a delay that big I would expect an article on BGR this week on it. They are always in the know with bb.

All the q-chat phones are pushed back to June so cross your fingers the curve is on time. Crackberry addicts are saying the curve will release next week but will be for select market roll outs due to demand.

Tritan: I spoke Sprint Corporate Hdq. (703-433-4000) today to resolve some issues and asked about the Curve. I was given the tentative release date for the Curve is June 1, 2008.

why do you keep posting the phone number to Sprint Hq in Reston? That is the third time today. Once is enough.

What's the problem with posting verifiable information, such as a phone number in my case to validate the information I've posted?

Hmmmm . Intresting.

If this is truely the case and I am sure we will start to see news release of a push back. I will take a closer look at the new WM treo coming in June if this is truely the case as the only reason I was going berry is availibility. I think it is going to be another losing battle for Sprint as this will ensure people waiting for next week will look else where especially with verizon getting it faster and the new treo around the corner.

welcome to the forums. No it is not at this time. The carriers are not required to unlock devices, nor accept unlocked devices yet.

Basically I had no choice as the Treo 650 required resetting after every call. Now its just a wait and see game, everyone I spoke to yesterday told me that the sCurve will be out Sunday.
