looks like toshiba is using the trackball patent... wonder if they got the rights to use it... looks exactly like the curve track ball....

What I can'st stand is how RIM was actually awarded a patent for that track ball. The track ball super old technology....

Any company can get a patent, but the real question is will their patent hold up upon further review. Perhaps the UPTO needs to have a clue about previously existing technology before they award a patent.

Most patents are very specific in use because general patents dont usually fly at the patent office so it really depends on how it was written up
