Question Microsoft Office - 02-27-2008, 07:47 PM

Any word on when blackberry will offer microsoft office for mobile? I've seen some stuff on BG that says OS 4.5 might have it.

I doubt it. Docs to Go, maybe. But not Office.

Moving to the Rumor Mill.

MS Office on my BB I shudder at the thought, would be handy at times but docs to go will suffice

E-Office is a great suite of apps, the printing/faxing is definately a feature that is unique in the office editor.

That's the only reason I haven't gotten it yet is because eOffice is way too costly. I like docs2go though.

There's still a difference in paying a discounted price (let's saying $20, even) than not having to pay for basic functionality in a few months, no? I guess it could be debated until we're blue in the face, but the fact of the matter is that only a small number of people will edit documents on the go (for now, no pun intended) and giving away a product that does this sure beats having to pay for something else.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

You do realize.... that if you leave a blank Word or Spreadsheet document on your memory card..... you can edit that document and save it as a different name using the free version of Docs2go???? ;)

Yes it is expensive and I don't like the way that it handles attachments. The attachments download somewhere on my BB and I have a hard time finding them. I also get a lot of emails from dynoplex everytime I try to open an attachment. I really wish that I had looked into doc2go before I purchased the eOffice.

I can't find a copy of Docs2Go Premium cheaper than $70.
eOffice is $40. How is eOffice cheaper?

eOffice only dropped their price there a few months ago, probably after the post was made (since the post goes back about 3 months ago....)

eOffice use to be about 80-90 bucks somewhere around there, Docs To Go came along matching eOffice for $70 bucks but it is biult into 4.5, so that is when eOffice dropped there price.

I used the old trial of eOffice... I must say DTG is alot cleaner and smoother.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

And, since DTG is free, why pay $40? You can do pretty much everything you need with the free version of DTG.
