It's time to get a plunger up to RIM and get the clogged toilet working again.

So I got my dirty paws on a hold of 4.5 for the 8300 I won't share well because its to much work. Find your own way. I'm still trying to get a certified os from work but they haven't received it yet.

The O2 page has changed! But bad news before you rush to get a new OS the only change is to some of the dates to April/May 08 from March/April 08.

Next month it will May/June... Patience is truly a virtue

For the first time I feel the future might hold some different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

The 8300 series and 8800 series still say April '08.

still hold to my position i posted earlier. it would be a mistake to release the OS now. AND the site doesnt say 4.5, just an OS update.

Sith I missed your earlier post. Why would it be a mistake to release now?

the OS isnt ready. Look at all the numerous bug reports on here, or questions. Its still a beta for a reason. Do NOT post the method to find this for download.

First. I wouldn't download that.
Second. You don't want the BETA version.
Third. Just wait, your going to feel like a jackmalass when you get it only to find out you went threw all that trouble just to have video recording, diffrent looking OEM themes, Small diffrence in overall OS layout and speaker still is as soft as it was with 4.2.

But hey to each their own

Thanks Sith.

We're all on edge b/c BB "said" the OS would be out in April. They should have told us it would be out in November of 08 and then surprise us by releasing it earlier.

Then I guess this thread wouldn't be so long...

I should have a clear idea as to what is and when it's due tomorrow. Will update when I know anything.

No, the didn't. I have never read anything official from RIM stating April as a release of 4.5. Yes, I could have missed it, but I am pretty certain they haven't.

Now--a lot of know-it-alls have said April, two weeks, soon, really soon. But that is not RIM.

Hey one thing I do want to ask everyone with the beta, how's the memory usage? I mean, fresh install with your basic and most used apps, how much memory do you have free? More or less? hehe.

Oh just spotted this strapline on the O2 page:

Quote:
All forecast dates for new software are subject to accreditation by O2 and are provided for guidance only.
Sounds like a getout clause if ever I heard one...

or just like any other roadmap, either hardware or software, its subject to change. its a good thing though, if they are pushing it back it usually means they found a bug that needed to be fixed. its better they find it than a user.
