Default O2 it's April where is 4.5 - 04-02-2008, 11:19 AM

Ha ha countdown till O2 releases an update for devices. Lets see what the hype was about on the page since they are the only carrier actually stating a month for an upgrade.

Last official word from RIM was "Spring '08". My last guess was that it would be released roughly around the same time as the 8330. I would expect it either next week or the following. I doubt we'll have to wait until the VZW release.

waiting for a VZW release has absolutely NOTHING to do with 4.5. They are two completely unrelated events. And the O2 website just has a note for an upcoming OS release, it has no mention of 4.5. Would be very amusing if this were not the 4.5 release, but another 4.2.2.x release.

I heard from the friend of a guy who was hitchhiking in front of Verizon Wireless' world headquarters that there would be no new BlackBerrys until 2011 for Verizon. They are waiting for OS v6.0 to come out.

I know I should have posted this last Tuesday, but this is how silly this thread has become.

It all sounds like non-sense to me! Microsoft seems to be able to let us know when their new stuff will be out. I don't know why Blackberry can't do the same. I'm about at the point where I'm going to switch to a Windows Mobile phone.

I thought the predicted date for O2 to release their bb is 9th (tomorrow).

I think RIM people are extremely lazy, how difficult to put an upgrade of a os right?

I found this article on the net..

BlackBerry OS 4.5 Coming In April | RIMarkable

Like everything out there you can only take it so seriously, but it does confirm O2 release for 4.5 tomorrow...

It might be a looong day lol.

For the first time I feel the future might hold some different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

Wow. Reading this amazes me so much. I can't wait for the stable "official" release of the software myself but this will not make your Blackberry allow you to time travel, jump higher or run faster. I would rather wait for them to exterminate the bugs instead of releasing early and have everyone complain about how this and that keeps going down or messing up.
