Officially, "Before the end of summer".

Last week, it got its FCC clearance and AT&T began its staff training on it.

It's getting close.

Those dates are estimates based on internal sources and what they are told. Both at the carrier level and at RIM.

I'm really hoping that it comes out with Rogers on the 25th... even with all the rumoured delays because of the screen.

The rumours aren't about the screen, they're about the piece of plastic that goes on top of the screen.

The worst that can happen is RIM repairs it for you. Not really a big deal to me.

BGR didnt give it the greatest review, but it seemed fair.

Didn't they call it the best BB ever made by far? What else could they have said?

They could have said "This new OS is befitting a device of this calibre"
They could have said "If this device was 3 years in the making it's easy to see why!"
They could have said "Finally! The browser we've all been waiting for! Woot!"

There is always something left to be said. I mean come on, man. Before the iphone pricing and its rumoured subsequent trickle down effect, we were expecting this thing to be priced around $800. That's a chunk-o-change. I would expect a near flawless device with a sparkling review for that kind of money.

The only caveat is that BGR's device wasn't a final release.
I'll hang my hat on that hope for now...

Rogers is releasing them this FRIDAY JULY 25/08 in CANADA, yeah we bet AT&T this time.
If you are in dire need for one, they are available on eBay and Craigslist, but they are the pre-production version without the leatherette backing. We are paying $299 on a 3 years contract and $30/month for 6Gb of data.

do you have a link to the Rogers site confirming this date as the release?

Rogers lists a description of the Bold on their site but no release date.
