Just happened to look at eTrade and saw it there. Hm... I had been thinking about signing up, now I'm thinking of signing up and eBaying a new BlackBerry.

This is really just a front for Wirefly. If you set up a new account, then go back to this page and enter your username and pw, you go to a Wirefly page that offers a free curve or pearl for setting up a new wireless account. The 8820 is $99.

Amazon is the better deal. $.01 + a $75 mail in rebate for the Curve

Default Definitely saw the ad on Yahoo.com - 02-26-2009, 04:19 PM

Definitely saw the E-Trade ad on Yahoo.com. I just figured it would be one of these things where you have to complete so many Level 1 offers, so many Level 2 offers, and so many Level 3 offers that you would probably NEVER get the free Blackberry.

I filled out the info. You have to start a new 2 year cell phone contract through wirefly to get the new phone.

I did this last summer. I signed a two year contract with AT&T and received my free Curve. The only stipulation was I had to have the data plan for at least 6 months, but the data plan is the reason I switched to BB in the first place.

Default Not a good deal - 06-17-2009, 04:28 PM

I just looked and found the following disclaimers:

2. Must purchase a new 2-year plan with a select wireless provider to qualify. Subject to carrier credit approval. While supplies last.

3. After discount and mail-in rebate from AT&T with a new 2-year account and subject to carrier credit approval. While supplies last.

Been shopping for one recently so I can say the offer on E-Trade is not particularly more enticing than what AT&T offers on their site...

Thumbs down Scam - 07-05-2009, 08:55 PM

The Etrade free Black-Berry is a scam I am A coustomer with Etrade Who tried to get the free Blackberry at the end of the order I was Informed I would have to agree to a 6 month internet service at 40 dollars a month or I could not get the phone. When I told the Rep I was no longer interested in the service The Rep got nasty with me. My advice avoid this free Blackberry.

when E*Trade bought out my online broker and then started charging me monthly service fees, I dumped them in a heartbeat. Business practices like that don't retain customers. Neither do pretend deals like this free blackberry they are trying to pawn off on us.
