Default verizon storm - 11-05-2008, 06:41 AM

I have been doing research on the storm and Ido not see anywhere that it has html email.
I see that it has html browsing but no html email.

Am I wrong,

I sure hope so ,I want the storm when Verizon releases it.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

It does because all devices using an OS of 4.5 or higher have html. It is a given.

Go to a store and use one. No one can tell you if the device is going to be good for you.
Only you can make that decision.

well, i tried the iphone and it felt awkward but i thought i get used to it. so trying in a store didn't really help.

most colleagues use their traditional keyboards during meetings without problems. no one ever did that with an iphone.

so i wanted to get some real user feedback.

The touchscreen on the Storm is nothing like the iPhone.
Go try a Storm and see if you like it.
It doesn't matter what other people like... it only matters what you like.

in what way is it different. yes, i know I should try it. but it's too late here in Boston.

is the storm very sensitive? it's quote easy to break an iphone and my GF (she wants the Blackberry) usually just throws it in her purse.

The Storm has a SurePress touchscreen keyboard.
It has tactile feedback so it feels like you're pressing a real button. The whole screen is a giant button, and literally clicks when you press it.

hm, from the typing video it looks too much like my iphone. don't get me wrong, i like my iphone as a toy for the occasional email. but not as a serious emailing device. the touchscree keyboard is not for me. and my GF doesn't like it either. so i have to hope for the bold on verizon.

I would think that sensitivity is not an issue on the Storm like it can be on a conventional touch screen because in order to execute your intended action, you must physically press the screen down in addition to simply touching the surface lightly to make your selection. You can probably adjust the sensitivity of the touch screen as well, but that most likely won't affect how the physical buttons under the screen work.

I would recommend not making decisions about a device by watching videos of other people using them. Go to a store on Friday and try it for yourself.
