oooh. I got a mac mini at home... I plugged it in, played with it for about 2 hours, unplugged it, put it back in the box and it's in my garage on a shelf. It's about the most useful think I can think to do with it at this point.

i like mac myself... no viruses..only draw back is that it doesnt link up with the bb... otherwise it works just like if not better than a pc..dont have to worry about my computer becoming an expensive door stop...only things macs are expensive..i am they only person in the hood i know has a mac..lmao

Sure... Macs are not door stops... they are expensive paperweights... You know... get norton antivirus, microsoft antispyware and be a little discriminating with your browsing... ie. no porn, and you won't have a problem with your PC. I take care of plenty of PC's and never have virus issues, get the occasional spyware issue, but other than that no problems at all.

10 Years ago, Mac was touted for being the graphics machine of choice, but today with the quality of hardware for the PC and the software being ported to the PC (see adobe) even graphics people are moving to the PC. The Mac has no edge on the PC whatsoever anymore.

It takes nothing to keep a PC running just as reliably as a Mac, but at 1/3 the price, much more in the way of accessories available, and much greater room for upgradability and expansion for the future.

People who buy Macs because they are 'more stable than a PC' are simply misinformed. There is not a single thing that a Mac can do better then a PC in today's world. Even the OS isn't as simple as Windows XP.

The way to sum this whole Mac thing up is that if it was such a better machine, it would be in the lead when it comes to market share, but instead, it's good old Billy G who saved apple from chapter 11.

People are more than welcome to use Macs... I even have a mini at home, albeit collecting dust on a shelf somewhere, but to those who try and preech that a Mac is in any way better than a PC need a simple lesson it life... "No it isn't."

the only reason they have market share is not because of quality its because of quanity and pricing...anyone with it background will tell you how more stable macs are and does everything a pc can do plus...its like an american car sure there cheaper and your 70 year old grandmother wont buy anything else but i will take a honda in a heart beat.. bill gates has the corporate world by the balls...its the only reason they have market shae..i say when it comes to electronincs you get what you pay for..and for me macs are better quality and less headache.. when i want to update my bb i borrow my cuz labtop otherwise i dont need a pc.. his expensive toshiba had windows xp crash several times and the mother board replace already.yet my mac keeps chuging...1gig worht of ram..and 6 usb ports plug and play with no software....hey sounds good to me

Dude... what do you think I have been doing for the last 15 years of my life? Working in IT... I have worked at computer stores, banks, system houses, etc... I know all about PC's, I know all about Mac's... I have an eMachines laptop that has been running flawlessly for the last 2 years... what's your point?

If Mac had anywhere close to the availability of software that PC's have, people would mess up their Mac's just as much. You can't tell me that you have never seen a Mac with a bad system board... I have seen tons... one of my best friends owns the largest computer store in the Niagara region here and I have seen plenty of bad Mac's...

I will take any PC system with a Gigabyte board, AMD processor and WD hard drive and put it up against a Mac for reliability... of course you get what you pay for, to a certain degree... For the performace you get from a Mac, you can build a much faster and more reliable PC... This has been proven time and time again...

Mac will never be a player in the market again because they can't match the performance of a PC without dropping their huge margins. Bill should have never let his so-so friendship with Jobs come into play when he dropped 50 big into Apple... then we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

well seems like you are a homer as they call it for pc's i have had both.. and i have just about all the software a pc has...the last 2 corporate jobs i have had we all have had pc's and the it depts have told me we would have less problems if we had mac's and these are fortune 500 companys...bill gates puts out shitty work..its a fact..but hey you keep your pc's and the trojan horse virus and all that and i will keep chugging along with my mac.....its a marathon not a sprint

I don't want to help further fuel a system war, but I wanted to add that I feel Mac's have lost their edge over PC's. There really is no reason to buy a Mac anymore.

Adobe has said themselves that their CS suite performs better on PC's. Hollywood is growingly using Avid products on PC's to produce blockbuster movies. Programmers, oh wait, we never use Macs. ;) And, 98% of corporations use PC's. In the last 10 years I can't think of getting a virus once. Mac's are actually more vulnerable, their lack of a good market share just doesn't warrant any effort from programmers to develop exploits for them.

The only reason Mac's still sell is because of their dedicated (and in most cases uninformed) fan base. Don't be fooled into thinking their higher price points mean quality.

They have chosen to manufacture their own hardware, not to make their systems better then the competition, but with the hopes to maximize their profits by retaining complete control. Their systems are priced higher because it costs those more to build their systems.

PC's have benefited from 3rd party competition to bring their prices down, Apple doesn't have this. Apple has finally bit the bullet though as a result of their profit margins decreasing over the years and is now going to develop their processors through Intel.

Further more, the amount of effort being put into Windows Visa should silence Microsoft haters. Between security and performance enhancements it will definitely raise the bar on how we use computers; you can mark my words on that.

Sure you can hold ctrl and click, it's rather simple.

And there are plenty of reasons to buy/own a Mac. Stability, ease of use, and creativity just to name a few. Sure they cost more to produce simply because of the quality and features that are present on them. Their products are far superior in terms of quality when compared to most PC's. And Apple has and always will be at the forefront of adapting the newest technologies into their products.

Fortunately I have no trouble incorporating my Mac at work.

Coming from an IT background, it's not the file system or the protocols, its the business strategy that is at fault. Just like the guy said about cars, Macs have their place in music composition and video editing, and a myriad of other uses. Its the fact that Steve Jobs didn't want all his things compatible with the rest of the world is what has kept me from buying a Mac, and unless MS becomes Mac someday, I can safely say that I'll never buy one. But everyone is entitled to their choice, just as much as everyone has their own opinion.

The only Mac I want is a Big Mac. Its very compatiable with me where as the other mac isnt i cant figure a dang thing out on a Mac Nothing I have in my office is mac compatable.

its funny i used pc's all my life until my laptop crashed and i did research...started talking to the it dept and other mac and pc users.....the price was steep but i love my mac i hug it everyday...lmao the only issue is the not being able to hook up with the bb..other than that...i think its the best..the no viruses and the way my wife downloads music and porn its perfect..rotflmao
