will blackberry ever include a camera and mp3 ability into a unit much like Treo?

I love my blackberry but would love to be able to take pictures and listen to music with it as well.

any info into this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks a ton.

Paul,
Please do a search and read the posts in this section...This has been discussed ad nausium. FYI, I did a search for "mp3" and found a ton of posts on this.

Im not trying to flame, sorry if it seems that way. But like I mentioned this is brought up weekly.

MP3 & Cameras, while fun, tend to be a sore spot when it comes to BB's. Security is a big issue wheather you agree or not with that philophsy, a fair amout of companies and the Fed. Govt. do not allow camera phones. Remember BB's first and foremost are corporate tools that have made their way into public use. If you want a camera and a mp3 try the SKII or the TREO. Im sure you will be much happier.

Ya know blkberryboy, I know a guy who is a dyslexic, agnostic insomniac. He lies awake at night wondering if there really is a dog.

No flames here either, but I've yet to find a phone (or PDA) that has a decent camera or DA function that comes close to an inexpensive dedicated device. Honestly, I can buy a cheapie DAP (like an iPod Shuffle) that's going to offer about as much memory as any "music phone" that's on the market. Drop about $79 at Wallgreens and I'll get a cheap digital camera that has better quality than any cameraphone I've seen. Or heck, you can even pick up a disposable digital now for under $20.

Convergence is maturing, but it's not quite "there" yet.

LOL @ talldog.

All knowing Dawg with the new icon, you stole my thunder. I did a search for mp3 and founf 93 posts, I was going to post them but I was trying to be nice.

Like I said if you want a camera phone or mp3 phone there are much cheaper alternatives.

Hey guys sorry about the post. Did not mean to stir up a overdone issue. I tried searching camera and obviously found quite a few posts about it but not one really answered my question until I looked again today and found two threads about the security issues. I guess that's what I get for searching through 4 pages of threads at 2 in the morning. Again my apologies. If a mod would like to delete this thread please do so.

Thanks though guys.

Paul

Hi TekGuy. Welcome to BB Forums.

May I suggest next time that you create a new thread instead of adding this to an 8 month old thread that has nothing to do with a 377 error and no one will see it.

Please create a new thread...

When I receive email, it made sound.
Can you tell me how to stop sound?

miki, I answered your question in the other thread you created. There is no need to resurrect this one from a year ago.
