Default Twitter App - 06-05-2009, 04:31 PM

Hi Guys

been reading the forums for a bit since I got my 8900 but i have noticed that BB are missing a twitter client so I just wanted to post about one I would like RIM to make:

Include tweets in the Messages (like facebook does)
Be able to customise which tweets are used (from your follow list)
also to include icon updates on home screen (again same as facebook)
include loaction, twitpic, etc support

I am still testing other twitter apps so I might come accross these features sometime.

I think RIM might do this as twitter is becoming very populer (even xbox will have it soon)

I don't know I wouldn't my Twitter messages in my Messages... Talk about clutter, and I could just see my file free hitting 0 in a few hours.. After you start following so many people it never stops updating.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

I am under the impression that OP is asking about a RIM made twitter client, not the 3rd party ones we have available. (TwitterBerry, UberTwitter, SocialScope, etc)

Try YATCA (Yet Another Twitter Client Application). It does most of the stuff you want.

BB Support rule #1: When in doubt, pull it out..... (the battery)

Motorola v360-->SE K750i-->BB 8700--> BB 8320-->BB 8900.

It did seem what the OP was asking since he mentions trying other apps in the meantime.

I'd wondered about it, too. It took some time, but recent events seem to demonstrate its value. Kind of got surprised when I read Jack and Suzy Welch wrote that they were using it (tweeting).

twitter is great for followering celebrities
like I follow stephen fry, jimmy carr, bill bailey.
you get to hear about shows, things they are up, programs they are recording etc etc.

It is almost pointless just between friends which you are most likely friends with on facebook and/or myspace.

I find that following "people" in twitter isn't the reason to use twitter.. I love getting almost real time news from all of my favorite news sites without me having to surf the web to get it. I no longer have to surf crackberry, BGR, BB News thanks to twitter.

That's what I've been using Viigo/RSS feeds for... (A long time now to)

Well. With the twitter, I am using Viigo much less. The news feeds are much more current and efficient and automatically arrive. I have my local paper and other media sources that I follow

Really, I find articles hit Viigo/RSS feeds quicker then they hit Twitter.. I might be too deep into Viigo, got over 20 feeds.. and the joy I find with Viigo is it won't clutter my twitter lol, ever so often a decent enough conversation comes across twitter lol.

Default Twitter Help - 06-28-2009, 08:12 PM

I downloaded tinytwitter, when I try to login in I keep getting an Error message that my twitter credentials are not valid. Not sure if there is something I'm missing but could use some assistance.

Thank you!

Have you tried UberTwitter?

I find it better then TinyTwitter.

Invalid credentials usually points to be a password/username, make sure you are typing in the right stuff.
