| haha. and guys, i will vouch that berry_apps knows what he's talking about. again, there's no issues with drumming up a bit of interest if you know a rumor. its not always in someone's place to divulge the full information, although its perfectly fine (usually) to give some people a bit of a head's up. given his little hint towards CES and Google and something to do with IM, i'm sure it possibly has something to do with Google's Jabber IM client being available from RIM in a little less than 2 hours; however, i'm curious if it will be supported by all carriers. i'm still a little pissed off at the way they went about releasing the Yahoo client to selective carriers and handheld models - that was a rather dumb move for the end-users, imo.

| From Engadget:
"Seriously we have a lot of things to show you ... we had a project with VW to do a prototype Google dashboard ... This is Daniel, he's going to give a quick demo of going from Las Vegas to the Strip ... you can see restaurants and gas stations ... you can also see a birds-eye view ... this is all live (unlike earlier demo)
Larry demos a phone version. There's a Blackberry version you can download now | | Offline

| I think Google is a little confused; when they say "Note: Google Local for mobile doesn't currently work with Nextel, T-Mobile or BREW-enabled phones (e.g. Verizon, Alltel, U.S. Cellular), or Palm devices."
I think they really do mean PHONES; it doesn't seem to apply to Blackberries as mine works fine. | | Offline

| OK...not that I keep count of things (cuz I do) but this whole thread was over big RIM news and IM related. This isnt close to the IM area which berry_apps was leading us to believe. IF this was the big news he was talking about, I certainly wont offer any appoligies as he thought he would deserve after the 'big' news was released. So to be clear on this issue, and a direct question to berry_apps, is this the big news you were referring to...even though its SO not IM related as you hinted to? | | Offline

My concern was for people being led to speculate wrongfully about the wrong issues. But in the future I will not comment on these things and stir things up either.

| This works on my TMO 7100t. Not a bad app. Not sure if I like it in comparison to 411 (that could be a thread in itself to compare these programs). Guess I will have to mess with it a little. | | Offline
