Default 8700 screen on a 7100?

Anyone know if RIM is going to continue making the 7100-type phones? Or is it all QWERTY from here on out? I'd love to keep my 7100 if I could have a better screen.

I fully expect RIM to continue the 7100 series style BlackBerries. For a long time, all the BlackBerrys looked the same. To me, it didn't matter which BlackBerry you got. Just pick your carrier and go. Now, you pick your carrier and have two very different BlackBerry designs to choose from. Some people want a smaller device, and the 7100 series fills this need nicely. I think the people who compose a lot of messages will always favor the full QWERTY keyboard.

The Blackberry 7100t brought me in from the world of regular phones because of its smaller phone-like shape.

How much larger? I couldn't tell from the pictures I've seen. Will my 7100 cases+screen protectors still fit?

So what case is everyone using for the 7100? I like the one that is included, but I key it horizontally on my belt and don't see it staying that tight as it wears...

Also does anyone use the extended 1800 MAH battery and if so anyone know where to get it cheaper than Nextel?

I do a lot of messaging with the 7100i and despite the few mistakes with SureType here and there, I find that my typing speed is just as fast as full qwerty (and I used a 6750 for almost 4 years, so I have a lot history with the full qwerty keyboard).

I like the choice of both form factors. I can't see why RIM would discontinue either when it offers people more choice.

I'm still getting used to switing back to the qwerty keyboard layout on the 8700 after using my 7105t for the longest time. I like either option of BB
