do they are sticking with the g for their namiong convention for the 7100 series. That is kinda werid. Hopefully we will see sometime this summer, Rogers likes delaying a lot of things so. It's like a guessing game

I wonder whether Rogers will follow suit with Cingular and offer a new unlimited plan for a lower price....yeah right!

Our corp rep should have the 7130 available rather soon. We should be getting a launch date mid week he says. Data plan wise there are no plans in the near future for BlackBerry data plans according to both our corp reps. Both have said Rogers knows how much money there is in Data right now and thus obscene amounts of revenue is earned with their data rates.

Rogers is a money making machine they will rarely do anything.

They are planning on releasing this unit on mid september...but knowing Rogers...there going to delay it!! They always do!

A friend of mine is using hers right now!!! She won it at a Rogers/Blackberry Dinner.

I believe the g stands for GSM, and the g is the standard issue BlackBerry that they sell to providers who don't want to (or can't afford to) invest into a special and unique style.

Just like the e stands for EVDO, on the 7130e, doesn't it?
And the i stands for iDEN on the 7100i?

Which would mean, that the iDEN 8700 might be called the 8700i or the 8702i.

We were told today that our reps could have them this month for those who wanted to change their handhelds and go with the 7130 series.

Yes you do. I have a relative who works for Rogers and he went to one of the parties. There also some stores across the country who already have alot of 7130's in stock.

I picked up a 7130g from The Telephone Booth here in Calgary. Love it so far, it's my very first BlackBerry so I am still getting used to some things...

The Rogers store at Chinook said they were still awaiting their first shipment.

the telephone booth is the best!!! (partly cause i work there!!!)

The Rogers store in Chinook is a Rogers Plus store (owned by Intertan) they will always have stock after Telephone Booth, Wireless Wave, Cellcom and Digital Communications. I go through my Rogers Rep but if I need to go to a store I usually go to Wireless Wave.

I go to the store where they treat me like a friend, and not try and spin me. Heck, I had this one guy at a 'The Source by Circuit City' who knew more about the Nokia 6620 than the guys across the hall at the Telephone Booth. It's all about searching for that diamond sales guy who's gold.
