i have the tmo 8700g now that i just bought (can return it by the time the verizon comes out if its really coming on the 28th) and a razr from verizon.. i am tempted to maybe get rid of the tmo account and just use the 8703 for phone and email...

hmmmm what to do... the only reason id do that is because of the EVDO speeds.. i have used a 700p for a while and the speed was fast, but i can't tell how much faster it really is than EDGE..

any advice/thoughts?

Sure you can. You'll probably find the Zen and Today themes on the new BB.

That looks just like an 8700g. But when I saw the them, that disporved my theory. How did you get it?

(hi guys... new here) I am waiting for the specs on this beauty. I love my 7520 but an upgrade is welcome.

For what it's worth, the guy at the Verizon store yesterday said no new Blackberries until around November...

Verizon 7250 > 8703 > 9530 (returned) > 8703 > 9630 #1 > 9630 #2 > 9630 #3 > 9630 #4 < perfect so far!

Do you think the dimensions for the 8703 will be the same as the other 8700 variants?

I e-mailed Proclip today to see if they knew and they do not. I was hoping to order a replacement to my 7250 holder. All of their other 8700 variants use the same clip, I don't see why the 8703 would be different, but.......

I'm an optimist and am thinking 8/28 and want to be ready to go!

Engadget Mobile is now saying the 8703e might have GSM 900/1800 inside as well as 850/1900 CDMA EVDO. The tip looks like it was from Roc a fella who knows his stuff!!!!

I also received a prerelease 8703 last friday. Hadn't gotten to use it until today, but some far it is identical to my 8700c. Verizon is releasing to some enterprise customers early for testing. Comes with a new plastic holster that does NOT have the spring tabs in the side that break off, rather the tabs are fixed and rather hard to lock in currently. I'm in a 1x area currently, but hope to test EVDO speeds later this week. It is also running version 4.1 of code.

You can't read it in the picture, but it says "CDMA by Qualcomm" on the back of the unit. Not sure how to determine if it does have any GSM capabilities, but doubt it since we are being told it will not work in Europe/Asia. Also our Reps are saying we can order on the 28th of this month, so it seems to be launching soon.

One of the biggest offices of Verizon (corporate building for the south east) is in Boca Raton... Got a friend at the gym who works there... he tells me is an awesome device... feels plasticky and keys are very close... uncomfortable to type for med to lrg hands other than that...EVDO rocks

Same comments from other 87xx users. Nothing new about that, except a full QWERTY keyboard which many of us want.

Reception has been great and the keys DO feel slightly different from cingular 8700. They have rounded off the top inside corners of the keys, which makes them feel further apart....less typing errors for my big hands. Also call and disconnect buttons are larger with the browser button being slightly smaller.

just got off the phone with my verizon rep, he is alway good about getting me new "toye" as soon as they are offered to the Business clients. He asked me if I want the international BB coming out at the end of the month. He has always gotten me or my staff phones (Q, Treo 700W) the first day they were avaliable...so it looks good for the endo of the month w/ GSM for international calling...

If it is CDMA/GSM how much is this thing going to cost???? I'm sure that will drive up the price a bit.
