Just kidding. I thought that I'd throw in something. Truth is, I'm about the last guy at my company with a BB. Everyone has jumped to the Treo. So, I can wait. Like someone said, at least we know that it is coming.

WOW LuxuryNick, you are quick to come on here and start throwing quotes around peoples names like I am an imaginary object.

Think before you speak. Long before your 7 (count 'em seven) post count screen name signed up here, I have been busy making a name for myself on this and every other web messege board.

There is a distinct reason why people like boy genius and myself are trusted names on internet message boards and web blogs. Its cause we constantly deliver. Time in and time out

Now don't take this the wrong way. There have been times in the past where the informatuon that i have recieved has been askew or slightly altered from what the correct information was. Hey it happens. I am just a ordinary guy with extraordinary connections

So please, don't take this is the wrong way but GET OFF MY TIP.

Now back to the debate.

The 8703e has been slightly pushed back. Look for an upcoming announcement soon.

The world phone blackberry is compeltely different. Not the same phone. Words were taken out of context.

Thanks, ROC

Do you know if it could be available by the middle of Sept?

I might have overlooked the specs of this newly and highly anticipated VW BB... is it like Cingulars?

Has anyone here used, or tried a 700p in the real life? I'm staying with BB because they have been stable for me. (why fix if it's not broken) I'm just interested in the differences.

Everything once in awhile get's pushed back. Toyota is pushing back release dates on most vehicles, Motorola pushed back the release date and Microsoft pushed back Vista to sometime this decade.

Forgot who said it "don't want to pull a Martha Stewart" is absolutely correct.

Once again........

On October 28th the Verizon Blackberry 8703 (There will be no "e") will be be available online only for 12 days. After those twelve days the stores will be able to unlock the drawers and release them to the public. With all do respect, nobody needs to wait for ROC or BG to confirm or even search the internet.... the release date is October 28th.

Thank you

Where did you get this information from? According to the short term confidentially letter posted on the FCC site, RIM requested a 45 day stay on 7/31/06. If true, that would put the release in mid-September and not late October.

Not what my corporate rep is saying. He has advised that there will be a launch in early September. Not sure on the "e" (not that it matters).

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

With what Cramer said about vzw and rim stock when he mentioned a new blackberry for vzw, I'm sure there are a lot of traders watching this thread big time.... perhaps they are even some of the ones that have come out of the woodwork with all sorts of secret info... I believe in roc and bg as they have the track records....

i will now be sitting in the believe it when i see it from verizon lounge having a drink at the bar trying to get rid of the after taste of bs.

Ok, i have seen you take some heat on this board so far. i would have to say that if October 28 comes and goes with no 8703 the verizon customers may nail your credibility to a giant wooden cross (figuratively speaking of course)

So what your implying is... T-Mobile will have the 8100 1 month before Verzion customers will get the 8700 series... almost 10 months after it was orginally released as a GSM model....I'm guessing the 8100 will hit verizon shelves late summer of 2007, if they even release one at all.

Seems like a pretty bad bussiness strategy...

PS I agree with BOTH of joe allen's previous posts above.

Default Is it just me? Can't be. - 08-28-2006, 12:00 PM

Is it just me or does it really seem like Verizon has some proverbial body parts up other proverbial body parts so far that it would take the jaws of life to extricate them?

I've been watching this since the rumors started and I'm actually getting to the point where I might jump from the Ship of Verizon Fools. I mean, I really feel like I've been fooled into sticking with them. I keep saying things like, "But they have the best network, it's the most reliable, it's the fastest." Then I look at my old Blackberry when everyone I know on other networks have shiny new 8700's. Some of them will undoubtedly have the 8100 when it comes out and one is already angling with his wireless guy to get the Pearl the moment it's available. In the meantime, I just keep hoping that I'll be able to get an 8700 SOON. "When will then be now?" "Soon!" Ugh.

This isn't just keeping up with the Joneses, I want a new device that can handle the data and tasks I throw at it! If the 8703 isn't out before my 7250 completely disintegrates (missing a few screws and the Speck case is holding it together), I'm outta here, on my way to some other provider with a better handle on getting the new stuff. October is too long to wait, too high a price to pay for second best.

Dude.. where's my berry?
I don't know why people get all heated up in a "Rumor Mill" thread. Doesn't the name itself say enough? It's rumours, not solid facts. If it's true, cool, if not, don't cry over it. Seriuosly, some may have built a reputation for getting the latest juice, which is coo, but what they're giving us is still not in stone. So chillax, if you want to believe what's posted, that's fine, if not, that's coo too, 'cause rumours are to be taken with a grain of salt anyway. I come here for the latest rumours, but had to post my 2cents 'cause it's starting to get childish.

yep, people need to chill out here for sure. We're talking blackberries here, people are like making death wishes and what not. It will come out when it comes out, you can deal with your phone for another month or two, the worlds not going to end.

I was just making a comment on bussiness strategy...
no my life isn't going to end if I have to sit on my Treo for another couple of weeks....however, I was just critizing verizon's failure to keep up with the modern technology in the market.... thats all.

Well, what good is a shiny new 8700 running off of an unreliable network? Not much at all. I absolutely loved my BlackBerry 7230 from T-Mobile, but all it really was was a fancy paper-weight, I couldn't even get reliable reception at the Mall of America, the biggest freaking mall in the country! With Verizon and the 7250, I have a BlackBerry that functions like one, not just as a paper-weight.

Sounds like your info is incorrect (download the brochures). Definitely an 8703e and looks like it'll be out within a week or two......

first week of September = October 28? That is fuzzy math right there. That must be a different calendar than I'm used to. Either way, it is nice to see some real documentation out there, and some reps confirming it. Will be interested to see which date it is. Either way, hopefully, this will clear some room on the ledge for us Sprint folks to start freaking out.
