Kinda wondering why BB instant messenger never integrated other networks, would have been nice if there was an option outside of a bes with LCS.

I have a BB 7250 on the Verizon network. I have used IM+ and Berryvine Messenger but found them to have unstable connections. I was excited to hear that you can now add MSN IM users to your Yahoo Contact list. It works well at home when I use Yahoo Messenger on my PC. When I tried to use Yahoo Messenger on my Blackberry to IM my MSN contacts, it didn't work.

I also tried the Verizon MSN Mobile software but you have to pay 15 cents PER message. Crazy. I wish Microsoft and Blackberry could get it together to make MSN messaging (Windows Live) work on the Blackberry.

I can IM MSN users from the BB Yahoo Messenger, but they can't IM me. I show up as online to them, but they don't show up as online to me. Has anyone had any success using Yahoo Messenger on your Blackberry to IM MSN contacts?

There's a msn.alx file on the java folder from OS 4.5, it is only available for vendor 100.

If you edit the alx to be loaded into any device you get this:

Edit: well actually you only get the application, not my son's picture

(I don't use AIM or ICQ and use the BB Yahoo Messenger for Yahoo). The Google Talk with the transport is working just as good for me as JiveTalk did.

jimmy1973, just follow the link mgerbasio listed. I followed that when I set mine up and it worked great.

bb8310, you have to set it up on windows first with psi to create the transports, and then once that's setup you can just use Google Talk from there on out on your BB and not worry about the desktop part.

I don't use the transports anymore, I use the RIM Windows Live Messenger and have been for awhile now. I can't remember the MSN transport I used for Google Talk, but it was very reliable and worked excellent. I think it was msn.jabber.no or something similar like that.

rjw3000 - what provider do you have that allows you to use the RIM Windows Live Messenger? I'm with verizon and from everything I can tell, that prevents me from using the RIM client. If you've gotten Windows Live to work on a Verizon-connected BB, I'd like to hear about it! Thanks.
