I certianly would call that news... The 8707v has been released i believe on Vodafone and is a GSM device, so no verizon. Anyway one of the Mods will move this to the thread below and you would probrbly get more respnses there...

why does VZW need an 8707, as far as i know the 8707 is just a 3g BB, and from what i can tell the 8703e is the equivalent to it for the US market anyway

i am certainly looking forrewward to the BB8703e; it will be my 1st bb. i have owned both the 1st adn 2nd kyocera smartphone. the retention on battery is terrible along with various receptions based on your area and range of reception. i can only expect the bb 8703e to be much, much better reading the current reviews.

im willing to bet that battery life on an 8703e will pale in comparison to a GSM 8700

8703e = CDMA/EVDO
8707 = GSM/UMTS

Big difference in the technologies, as no carrier in the United States does both, so there would be absolutely no reason in the world why Verizon would carry a UMTS device. Closing this thread as this is not a substantiated rumor, nor is it news unless you posted this about 6 months ago.
