RIM is going to be releasing a new Pearl in a pearl white color, I don`t have any info on when but soon enough, I have seen it and it looks *WOW*

Please don't tell me RIM are going to 'do an Apple'. By that I mean keep releasing the same thing, just in different colours to exploit a loyal market of customers. Roll on the Zune!!!!!!

How exactly are they exploiting people by giving them a choice?

It's more a gripe about how Apple made the decision to release the same MP3 player in a load of new colours an 1mm thinner, instead of actually building new features like an FM radio in - which is what everyone else is doing. I'm just a bit anti Apple at the mo!!!!

Well......when you think of a pearl, you do think of white pearls don't you? You hardly ever see black pearls. It would give it kind of a sissy look though....no offense to any sissies

But seriously, see any difference in this versus what they did for the 7100, 7290, 8700, etc? Another market, another case, another color scheme... just a bit mroe contrasting this time around, obviously.

My wife would really want one then....and so would my oldest daughter who's hounding me daily to get her a cell phone (not giving in..not giving in...not giving in.) They'd go nuts over the white Pearl!!!

I wouldn't be surprized if RIM hops on the full-on charity-color phone... It'd be cool to see a (product)RED version of the Pearl, plus a barbie-pink one for Breast Cancer.

I think since they are trying to make the pearl more appealing to the average everyday consumer a colored pearl would help there but I think 8700/8800 type devices need to stay one solid color with maybe shades (IE verizon black tmo dark blue etc).

Pearl can pretty much look cool on any color, but a pink or red 8700 will look Fugly!

I've also heard the same thing. I have also heard that there may be limited amount of (Product) Red ones also. This is not confirmed but it's a rumor that's been floating around at some of the fundraising events that I have attended.

(Product) Red would be really cool. I would get a new Pearl if they released a (Product) Red one.

As per any Apple referances, knowing 6 people all in different upper levels of RIM (Developers, Programmers, Trainers), they have actually had small talks with Apple about integrating Blackberry and iPod.

Now that Apple is releaseing the iPhone, or whatever it will be called... why wouldnt RIM step on the trend-whore bandwagon of making their devices "stylish".

It's all about marketing and making money.

Apple iPhone pshhhhh is all i have to say. I have a feeling it's going to be something like the verizon choclate style or candy bar and everyone will rush out and buy it like Q's and it's going to suck... Rumour has it it's supposed to have your standard 1-9 buttons and some rumours call for no buttons at all... We'll all have to wait for Jan 9th to see what Mr. Jobs has up his sleeve this time!

Considering Cingular *just* released the Pearl, I'd say that this is for TMo.
Unless of course it is for Verizon / Sprint, but there have been no reliable reports of a CDMA Pearl as yet.

T mobile will be one of the first to release the blackberry in white.

ok... I search around and turns out the white pearl I saw was actually been "Photoshopped". I keep an eye out for the real one.

The TM rep I talked to last night said a far away rumor going round is that there could be a Pearl coming out with the Qwerty keyboard. So my guess it will be more like an 8700 in width but have the Pearl features.

Isn't the Pearl with a QWERTY keyboard the 8800/8900?

Haven't been on the forum for a while so only heard about the 8800 AFTER I made that post. The TM rep was just as clueless as me however as they acted like it was this secret information. I should know better to check here first for what's really happening...you all know more about BBs than anyone!

I don't think it'll be a Project Red one but it's a Red Pearl none the less so the rumors you heard at your events were true.

I have the black and my GF has the white. The white one is more for girls , not really sure but once you see it you will see why.
