Question Tivo to Go - 02-15-2007, 08:14 PM

Anyone happen to hear anthing about Tivo making Blackberry a supported device for their Tivo to Go?

Or did I miss something on their site and it already does?

Problems come and pass, but its a shame that some must pass like diarrhea.

Heard nothing of the sort. You can convert TiVoToGo files to mp4 to watch them on a Pearl or the new 8800 though.

You can already do this today with the current version (paid upgrade) of the TiVo desktop software... Just convert the file to h.264 or mp4...

Just remember that the Series 3 (HD) does not support any of the media/file sharing, yet. Waiting for Cable Labs certification/approval before it gets turned on, so save your $25 for now.

Default Tivo To Go/ 8800 - 02-25-2007, 06:40 PM

I have tried transferring Tivo files to my 8800. The Tivo Desktop Plus software has several "profiles" to convert to. I have used them all, and none of them work really great. Some are choppy (like the mpeg4) , some had audio sync problems (like the treo 650), some had no video and audio only.

Any ideas?

Anyone successfully transfer these videos to their 8800? or 8100?

Any suggestions appreaciated.

This doesn't work for .tivo files, at least for me. Did it work for you? Otherwise the app is very cool for DVDs.

Anyone else make any headway easily getting .tivo content on the pearl? I have done it but not easily. If it's not easy and it doesn't work every time then it's not something I will use.

This will be a 2-step process. First, you have to get the TTG files out of that .tivo format to a "real" video format. You can use the "pay" version of TiVo Desktop to do that or find some other way.

Then, you take that recently-converted video and use Media Studio for Blackberry (or Blackberry Video Creator, or some other similar software) to "convert" it to a format usable by the Pearl or the 8800, as the case may be.

At the end, TiVo programming on your BB.
