Default When can we expect an update to BIS?

Being new to the BlackBerry world, I am wondering whether RIM will update BIS (poss. to provide better reconciliation features). I realise that we won't know until announced, but has anyone seen anything to suggest they might be working on a new version?

Default RIM testers

RIM and other software devlopers are constantly thinking of something better than the newest whatever out there. Devlopers start on a new project as soon as the brand new OS is out. So, they are constantly coming up with better ideas to make an OS better than the one they just put out. They seem to like to do this behind closed doors so we wait in agonizing patence until the OS is finalized. Though I think an update on BIS is on both carrier and RIM to come up with.

Thanks for the reply. Guess we'll have to wait and see what emerges. I think you're right that the carriers come into play here. At the very least I would expect them to put pressure on RIM to develop BIS so that from a consumer's point of view the BB can appear to share some of the features that people with WM are used to...

The word I got was BIS 3 around the end of the year - maybe. Depends on the carrier I guess.

Okay now I'm going to ask a very stupid question?

Are you refering to the platform version?
